
This postbox sits just underneath the bridge in Corporation Street (see link below). When a bomb exploded next to it in 1996, it was the only thing left standing in the street. The plaque on it reads:
This postbox remained standing almost undamaged on June 15th 1996 when this area was devastated by a bomb. The box was removed during the rebuilding of the city centre and was returned to its original site on November 22nd 1999

I love this postbox. I showed my mum it last time she was here and she was fascinated.
